Sirma Group Holding, presented by Tsvetan Alexiev, CEO and Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo – Eng. Daniel Panov, discussed prospects and opportunities for cooperation. The focus was on a new partnership program between the company, municipality and local university “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”. Sirma announced its intention to open a regional Dev office in Veliko Tarnovo, in order to enable local professionals and IT graduates to start or continue their career in one of the biggest Bulgarian software groups.
This partnership evolves Sirma Group’s strategic program to closely work with local authorities and universities. The goal is to provide young Bulgarian software specialists not only job opportunities in the IT sector, but also to be a part of global IT business. Besides its Headquarter in Sofia, the company has regional offices in Varna, Rousse, Plovdiv and Kazanlak, and international sales offices in the US, Canada, Brazil and the UK.
Municipal authorities endeavour to attract first-class high-tech companies by providing them a chance to open regional offices in order to lift the profile of the region, retain local talents and produce highly skilled occupations.
“The attractiveness of Sirma as workplace and our decision to cooperate, is owing to the excellent company reputation, and its proven track record in global markets. Sirma’s international presence provides opportunities for local IT professionals to become part of a global IT community, working on challenging projects, creating cutting-edge technologies and solutions, without leaving their home country. Retention of local talent and availability of attractive job for them is crucial for the municipal government”, said Eng. Daniel Panov, Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo.
“We chose Veliko Tarnovo also for the presence of the prestigious local university “St. Cyril and Methodius”, which offers BSc and MSc in Informatics and Computer Science. The Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics is proud with its academic excellence, curricula and results. The graduates have fast and successful employability – either home or overseas. Their skills are valued and sought in various IT companies looking for software and mobile applications developers, software engineers, system integrators, hardware specialists, as well as in many sectors of the economy, governance, public administration, and education”, said Tsvetan Alexiev, CEO of Sirma Group Holding.
